Blogging for Work

I have already loved writing. Across the years, this love of writing led me to be responsible to write articles for the local paper when I was part of a science club in high school, it led me to become editor-in-chief of my college newspaper and it led me to write DVD reviews for a great site for four years.

When it comes to work, I first wrote four white papers across the last few years to explain how our technologies work to existing and potential customers. And now, since last fall, I became the company`s corporate technology blogger. Check it out here to get a glimpse of the types of technology that I work with.

UnePorte.net closes down

As you probably know if you’ve read my blog over the years, I was writing DVD reviews for a web site called UnePorte.net. After six years of loyal service, the site is closing down. It was starting to be too much or a burden for the editor to carry out all of the tasks asssociated with the site.

While I will definitely miss writing for that site, this will hopefully mean that I will have time to make more regular updates on my blog.

For example, you might be interested to know that my younger daughter, Gabrielle, has already started walking at 10 1/2 months while my older daughter, Evelyne, has been enjoying pre-school since September.

On the work front, things keep very busy but very interesting since we have been acquired by CAE and merged with two other companies to form Presagis. I get to learn a bunch of new technologies and the work environment is very stimulating. Unfortunately, I am still traveling too much at the moment but I hope that this will level out over time.

There will also probably some changes on the site in the near future as the root of the site (nayanna.biz) becomes Andree’s web site for photography while my blog will probably move to another area. Stay tuned!

I am still writing for the magazine Québec Micro and have contributed two articles in the new June issue that has started to appear on stands. Interestingly, the theme of the issue was 100% Québec so I wrote two articles about software applications that are produced by the company that I work for, Engenuity Technologies. Check them out when you have a chance.
J’écris toujours pour le magazine Québec Micro et ai contribué deux articles au numéro de Juin qui commence à être disponible aux points de distribution. Comme le thème du numéro était 100% québécois, j’ai écrit deux articles sur des logiciels produits par la compagnie pour laquelle je travaille, Engenuity Technologies. Jetez-y un coup-d’oeil quand vous en aurez la chance.

The DS Lite, which I was talking about yesterday, has now been officially announced for release on June 11th. It will sell at the same price as the original DS.

New batch of articles in Québec MicroDe nouveaux articles dans le Québec Micro

After getting a first article published in the April issue of Québec Micro, I have landed four articles in the May issue of the Montréal-based computer magazine. You can read the magazine online or pick it up for free at one of the distribution points around Montréal. My articles are on pages 9, 10, 26 and 33 of the issue.

My first article for the quebec computer magazing Québec Micro has been printed in the april issue which has started being available at distribution points. It’s an article on an application to read RSS news feeds that can be found on page 7 of the issue.

My first articles for Québec MicroMes premiers articles pour Québec Micro

If you don’t know it this magazine, Québec Micro is a french computer magazine that has a circulation of 40,000 copies and is distributed freely across the province. I submitted two articles to them during my vacation. The first of these has been posted on their web site) while the second will be in the April issue of the printed magazine. I am quite excited about this and will post again once the issue is available. It will be fun to see my words in print and be able to share my computer knowledge with many people.
Si vous ne connaissez pas ce magazine, Québec Micro est une revue québécoise sur l’informatique qui est distribué à plus de 40000 exemplaires gratuitement à travers la province. Je leur ai soumis deux articles au cours de mes vacances. Le premier a déjà été posté sur leur site web) alors que le second fera parti du numéro d’Avril de la revue imprimée. Je suis très excité par ce projet et écrirai un nouveau message lorsque le magazine sera disponible.
