Woody Allen Comedy Collection

Universal will release a 4-disc DVD set on July 6th entitled The Woody Allen Comedy Collection. This set will include Anything Else, Curse of the Jade Scorpion, Hollywood Ending and Small Time Crooks for a suggested retail price of only $26.99 US. I have loved most of these movies (have not seen Small Time Crooks yet), so this will be very interesting.

Fans of Captain Herlock (Albator in French) rejoice. A new 13-part OVA series that was released in Japan through the end of 2002 and early 2003 is coming to DVD in North America in the new year. Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

First of all, Happy New Year! It’s been a busy one with my wedding and all, and next year should also be quite interesting.

Movie / DVD - After the amazing Final Fantasy, SquareSoft has decided to produce a second movie, this time a straight-to-video release. Instead of creating a whole new world, they are going back to the world of the Final Fantasy VII game (my favorite one so far) to follow the adventures of Cloud Strife two years after the climax of the game. The movie will be called Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and a trailer is already available on their web site (in japanese).

Pirates of the Carribean

I spoke about the excellent movie Pirates of the Carribean back in early July. Well, the DVD release date has just been announced for December 2nd as a two-disc set. Along the hightlights so far will be three audio commentary tracks, including commentaries from Johnny Depp, Jerry Bruckheimer and Keira Knightley. I’m going to need a very big Christmas stocking this year :)

West Wing on DVD

I’m sorry for not having done any updates recently. I got married in the middle of August and then went on honeymoon. As I came back, I saw a great news that I had been expecting for a long time. The West Wing is finally coming to DVD in North America (after the UK saw seasons 1 and 2 both released). The complete first season will be available on November 18th in a 4-DVD box set with a few extras. I have been watching this show religiously since the very first episode and it is one of my favorite shows. Just in time for Christmas.

Finding Nemo

The DVD Release for Finding Nemo has been announced. The 2-disc set will hit the streets in November 4th. It will contain the movie in both Widescreen and Full Screen versions, along with a nice set of extras.
