This title will sound familiar to all who enjoyed the Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2 movies in the ’80s. I recently reviewed both movies for UnePorte.net. Seeing these movies again renewed my love for this universe and I found out that a mini-series of Ghostbusters comic books was printed last year. I’ve ordered a copy of the new paperback collection that has just been released and will let you know how it fares when I read through it. The art in the book looks great and the story and dialog seem to keep the spirit of the characters from the movie.
J. Scott Campbell has announced on his official site that the first glimpse that we will be able to get of Wildsiderz, his latest creation, will be in June 2005. The comic will show a bunch of heroes wearing holographic suits that give them the power of animals. Neat concept. And Campbell’s art is just the nicest out there. I’ve been a bit fan of his since the Gen13 days. Now, my biggest conflict is whether I should get the issues as they come out or only once they are released as a trade paperback.
The preview issue, #0, will be followed by the actual series a bit later, similar to the approach taken for Danger Girl when it first came out.

I have been using RSS syndication to read the contents of web site in a centralised tool for a few months and find it is quite a time saver. Instead of going to multiple web site sequentially to read information, my RSS aggregator (I use RSSBandit) goes out and checks all of my favorite web sites to see if there is new content and puts together a list of all these new items. The latest feeds that I have added are for comics. There is a site called phpgrabcomics that generates RSS feeds for over 200 comic strips available on the web. This way, with all of your news, you can get a feed of your favorite comics to read in the morning. This is getting more and more like a newspaper ![]()
There is a pretty cool comic book adaptation coming soon to the big screen. Frank Miller’s Sin City will be a dark movie, just like the comic. The movie will also follow the visual style of the comic book with black and white images and just a bit of color some time to highlight some scenes. The cast includes Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba (Dark Angel) and many other well-known actors. It’s also pretty cool that Frank Miller who wrote and drew the comic book will co-direct this movie. Check out the preview at the link above.
Le site officiel d’Astérix annonce la sortie d’un nouvel album des aventures du célèbre Gaulois le 14 octobre 2005. Encore sans titre, ce nouvel album sera sûrement un plaisir à lire comme à l’habitude.

One of my favorite comic book artists, J. Scott Campbell (best known for his work on the original Gen13 mini-series and Danger Girl), is finally returning to the comic book scene with a brand-new title next year called Wildsiderz. Following the trend he started in Danger Girl, the book is not about mutants. It follows a group of people who wear suits that give them the characteristics of animals. So you’ll have a girl with a suit giving her wings to fly, someone else with a suit giving them the strength of a strong animal. There is currently no release date but you can see a first preview of the comic at the link I included.
