Through their Mailing List, Guano Apes has announced that they are soon coming back with a new CD. The first single will be released on November 15th. It has been quite a while so we heard from them. They have been on a break since early last year and released a Live CD/DVD since then.

The last few days have been quite demanding, but also very rewarding. Our daughter Évelyne was born on Tuesday, October 12th, at 21h54. So she’s now almost three days old now. We just came back home with the little one today. For pictures, check out our photo album. We’ll be updating regularly with new pics of our sweetheart.
Everything is going well so far. We just had a few problems with feedings at first bug things seem to be back in place now. More to come as we learn to discover the little one.

Hi world, I’m finally here, decided to wait for my Dr to be therem as she was out of town for the weekend and could deliver me only the following tuesday. So the 12th, at 9:54PM, I made my debut into the world.
Daddy was there to comfort me with my favorite story, as he read it to me I stopped crying to listen to him. I love that story.
There are pictures of me in thephoto album, have fun, I sure am.

Well, this is my first post to this log. I’ve been quite busy between work and the different reviews that I write for uneporte.net, as well as preparing for the baby’s arrival. That does not mean that I have not been thinking about little Évelyne. On the contrary, I have been thinking of her pretty much every day since we learned that we were expecting.
The range of thoughts is quite wide, from simple images of holding her in my arms and rocking her, to looking a few years ahead when she’ll start to ask me questions about the world. Of course, I also have a few worrisome thoughts about not being able to console her when she’s crying, general concerns that I might not take care of her properly and things like that.
Throughout the last few months, it has been a great experience starting to feel her through my wife’s belly. I’ve also loved being able to read stories to the little one in utero and knowing that she was reacting to the sound of my voice even though she had no clue what I was saying. Listening to the baby’s heart at every doctor’s visit and seeing her three times during ultrasounds has been the most fulfilling feeling. It has been challenging at times to deal with a pregnant woman going through a roller-coaster of hormones and emotions, but I feel we still managed to stay close through all of this.
We are now a few days away from Évelyne’s birth. It seems a bit unbelievable at times that this little person will come out of Andrée and will join our life. After being a few months away for all this time, it’s now so close.
I hope that everything will go well with the delivery. I will definitely be there to support Andrée through all of this and looking forward to meeting my daughter.
Stay tuned for news about the delivery and the first vitals.

Well, this is the “last week”. I’ll be 40 weeks pregnant this friday. Of course, we must all keep in mind that this “date” is only a formality, since it’s still all up to her and my body as to when she’ll be joining us.
I have been feeling a little crampy, mostly yesterday. I think I might have had a few contractions during the day yesterday, but since this is my first time, there is really no way to be sure. Of course I have a Dr. appointment later this afternoon, so if they we’re contractions, I should have made a little more progress then at my last appointment. Heres for hoping! This is technically my last appointment. If nothing seems to be happening, I’m thinking she’ll tell me to take another one for next week. As for induction, they want to wait untill I’m 41 weeks, they say many mothers go into spontaneous labor between the 40th and 41st week.
We’re both, DH (Dear Husband) and I getting anxious to meet our daughter. This is still surreal, I’m guessing that reality will hit like a train once labor starts. Especially since so many other mother’s from my support group on Babycenter have been having babies lately. I think there are offially 22 new mommies as of today, but I know a few are still MIA (Missing In Action) and 2 are in labor or still at the hospital as I type. This makes the hype feeling of wanting our little one a little more urgent.
I’ll be blessed with my sister’s visit sometime after the birth, she’ll be spending a few days here to help and of course to meet her niece! I have no clue about the rest of the family, just remembered I wanted to ask my mother about my dad’s parents. Being a long weekend ahead, there supposed to be making a visit. There coming from a little far away, I wish they’d waited ’till she was here, since they might miss her alltogether if she’s not here yet. Oh well, she isn’t going anywhere afterwards, so they’ll have plenty of time to visit another time if thats the case.
Only 2 days to go until friday. Wonder how long she’s going to make us wait, a real lady already!
Must take after me if she’s late, after her father if she’s early or in time!

This is where we bought our bedding. They really had the best service, well the girl that served us was super nice. They had the lowest prices on bedding, although it was a special they were having and I don’t know when it will end. They manufacter (a sister company) all the bedding and also have available most of the fabric for seperate purchase. They had a few (5-6) cribs, not the one we wanted though, at average prices.
Bébé Dépôt Plus: 514-270-8845
1104, rue Saint-Zotique Est, Montréal, QC H2S 1N3
This store was OK, it had about 8-9 models of cribs and a little more in bedding selection. Their prices were OK. The service was basic, not very amicable.
Bébé Plus: 514-271-5200
6235,rue Saint-Hubert, Montréal, QC H2S 2L9
This place actually has 3 floors full of different models of cribs and stuff. This place is huge. But the prices start from 180$ (aluminum or very shaky crib) to at least 800-900$ a piece. So it’s really a question of what your budget looks like. This is actually the place we first found our crib. They have a delivery time of 6-8 weeks + 3 weeks for construction this july. Don’t get pushed around into buying too fast though. If you have a bassinet or whatever they’re called for the first few weeks, you don’t really need your crib the instant the baby pops out. They we’re a little pushy on the delivery time thing, buy now or you won’t have your crib on time (blah, blah).

We hated the sales people here, all very fancy french from France types. But they did have 10$ less on the crib we had found elsewhere and have some in stock, which wasn’t the case elsewhere. So, we put aside service quality over price & availability on this one.

Le grenier de bébé: (514) 728-5517
3892, Dandurand Montréal, QC H1X 1P4
The boutique finds items at different garage sales, looks them over for safety standards and re-sales them. I don’t think their primary objective is to make money, I think it’s to make it easier to buy ised items, without going to every garage sale out there. Their cribs are supposed to be up to standards, they don’t take any more than 10 years old. The sales lady was quite nice, actually let me have a hat at a lower price (was already only 2$) because I only had 1.75$ in change on me. That was very considerate of her.

They had 8 models, the lowest priced was 229$ I think, they too could finish any of them in about 10 different finishes. But the lowest priced one didn’t really fit our style and then the next price level was 305$. The guy there was nice and answered all my questions.
