29 Weeks

Time sure flies. Already at 29 weeks. Seems like just yesterday I found out. Only 11 weeks left, give or take. Right now this pregnancy is very uneventfull, which is perfectly fine by me. Little Évelyne is rocking around in my tummy. I keep stopping whatever I’m doing to simply watch my belly move around. Sometimes it’s kicks but nowadays, it’s mostly turning around that I feel. I guess she’s starting to run out of space to actullay kick or punch.
Next Doctor’s appointment is wednesday, I can’t bare to hear them tell me I’ve put on too much weight. Although they haven’t said anything up until now, I’m just hoping it’s because I’m eating too much or retaining alot of water. Still wearing my wedding ring though, which was tight to begin with. A well, can’t do much about the weight I’ve put on so far, as long as it’s not putting her in any kind of trouble. I should also get my glucose test results. Let’s hope for the best and that I don’t have to worry about anything more than just extra weight, water or otherwise.

  • I have recently acquired a Sony RM-VL700 universal remote control. We had tried buying the smaller model from Sony recently to replace our VCR control that was starting to have problems with some of the buttons, and to be able to get rid of some of our controls, but it never recognized my DVD player and had trouble with some of my VCR’s buttons.

Now, getting the RM-VL700 was a wonder. Not only does this remote come pre-programmed with hundreds of devices, it can also learn signals! You just select a button, point another remote at it and press the button you want it to learn, and presto!, it now knows this button.

  • The first season of Omerta - La Loi du Silence, will be released by TVA Films on DVD on September 14th. I have been waiting for this show for a long time. In my opinion, it is one of the best french Quebec TV dramas to have aired over the last two decades.

  • Spider-Man 2

I just saw Spider-Man 2 over the week-end and thought it was a brilliant sequel to the first film. The balance between character development and action sequences was good. The Doctor Octopus character is very interesting and much deeper than I was expecting.

In terms of the main character, I thought that his attemps to have a “normal” life with his duties was a good story to follow. Many people have been telling me that they would have expected to see more of the conflict between Harry and Peter. However, in my opinion, having that conflict fully played out in this movie would have made it too heavy.
